Spatially, the store is generous and gallery-like. The neutral tone of the architectural palette enhances and compliments the sculptural qualities of the apparel on display. The perimeter walls are covered with carved acrylic panels that are subtly lit by recessed lighting in the floor and lean against reflective silver grey walls. The conceptual components and furniture within the space have a geometric, sculptural quality adding to the gallery feel.
Lightweight angular lines make up the suspended hanging rails and the dressing rooms are free-standing bronzed glass structures. These fade from solid mirror to clear revealing a flash of the cherry-red velvet lining – in contrast to the architectural shell. Large slices of thick, clear acrylic form the cash desk and display tables, creating the illusion of ‘floating’ masses in the centre of the floor. These generously proportioned acrylic structures feel both luxe and technical, a reference to the innovative prints and textures that appear within the Maryling collection.
